Angel Fire, New Mexico

We stayed for 7 nights, September 2 - 9, in the Angel Fire RV Resort. The nicest RV resort we have stayed in after Hilton Head Motorcoach Resort. Only 110 sites with beautiful buildings and many activities. We made friends immediately with the couple next door. We had our first 2 official pickle ball classes, went to live music on Thursday and Sunday nights, I attended a painting session and we went to concert in Downtown Angel Fire. Ken had work to do so we only went on one hike. We also drove 20 miles to Red River NM on Saturday night. Amazing, this town with a population of 500 had the most nightlife of any location we have visited. We also spent a day in Taos NM.

The RV Resort

Red River NM on Saturday Night, Unfortunately I didn't take many photos although I did take a great one of Ken with his Texas pals.

We walked right from the RV resort to the Elliot Barker Trail. We hiked to the top of a mountain where we could see the RV resort down below. There had been a fire at the top, not very large fortunately. We ended up with an 8.5 mile trek. My watch said I burned 1,000 calories. Whew!

Wednesday we drove the 20 miles from Angel Fire to Taos, NM. A very historical, artsy town that has maintained its pueblo character. Surprisingly crowded with traffic jams on the 2 lane road thru town. We did a lot of walking visiting the shops and galleries. We had dinner outside at Martyrs Steakhouse. Good, but neither one of us had steak.
