We are in Heber City Utah for an entire month at Mountain Valley. There is a nice discount for a monthly stay. The resort is new and has great amenities and nice scenery. It's less than a mile to shopping and Heber City, 20 miles to Park City (2002 Olympics) and 45 miles to Salt Lake City.
We are parked in the adult section at the resort that has its own clubhouse, pool, hot tub, gym, dog park and pickleball courts. The sites are wide and of course quieter than the family section.
There are no organized activities yet and we don't have a dog so the opportunity to meet people is limited. Some people sit in the hot tub at night but that's not really our cup of hot water. Ken wasn't excited about playing pickle ball since he considers it an older person's activity. But he broke down and we bought paddles and balls. It turns out that it is fun and also a good workout. We played twice so far and I think we're doing pretty well. It's certainly less frustrating than tennis.
The dog park is large and a great place to meet people. We don't hang out there due to the fact that we don't have a dog and we may look like stalkers. When we go on our nightly stroll around the resort I do stop people walking by with interesting dogs and talk to them. I interview each dog owner and pet the dogs for future reference. I am looking for a small to medium dog that is friendly, likes to snuggle and also likes to run and walk. For the record, Ken is NOT looking.
