After 22 days at the HUGE River Run RV Resort we drove to tiny Green Mountain Falls, Colorado which is near Pike's Peak and Colorado Springs. We checked in at the Rocky Top RV Park, which is small and has no pool, hot tub, pickle ball, restaurant or anything else. These small parks have their charm and are usually owned by an individual or a couple. The owner of Rocky Top was very friendly and gave us lots of info on local hikes.
On the way to Rocky Top we drove the longer scenic route from River Run and encountered a freak snow storm at 9,200 feet. A few cars and pick up trucks were off on the side of the road. I'm happy to say that our Renegade did well with Ken at the wheel.

We stayed 7 nights at Rocky Top, which means 6 days to actually have adventures. We did 2 long hikes, a 20 mile bike ride, a drive to the top of Pike's Peak, a visit to the Garden of the Gods and a day of shopping in Colorado Springs for a mother of the groom dress. The shopping day was not successful. All the stores seem to have very low inventory.

We rode our bikes on a trail along the western side of Colorado Springs. The Greenway/Pike's Peak/Santa Fe trail. It was a nice ride until the trail went thru the southern end of Air Force Academy property. We didn't go far - the sand and big rocks were too much for me. But it was interesting to see airplanes in practice mode. The planes were pulling gliders and then letting them go. We turned around at 10 miles. Back near the starting point of our ride was a large, impressive bike shop. My bike got a new stem to make my handlebars a little closer and bigger tires with more traction for gravel. We also looked at some electric assist bikes for an old lady named Sue.
